Ein Gedi

Hi guys,
From Thursday to Saturday we were in a Ein Gedi.
We went with some of our other family from Israel and had heaps of fun.
We stayed in cabins with a view of the desert and the Dead Sea.
On our way there we went to the Jordan river and put our hands in it.
On Friday we went on a big walk through the desert and found a beautiful waterfall.
We got changed into our swimmers and jumped in, it felt amazing.
On Saturday we went to the Dead Sea for a swim.
It felt so oily and on the shore there were mounds of rock salt.
Swimming in the sea was amazing because you just float without any effort.
About twenty years ago my parents went to the Dead Sea and it was a lot bigger and a lot less salty because every year the Dead Sea goes down 1 metre but it is the same amount of salt.
On our drive back on Saturday we saw the coloured sands, I found a bowl shaped rock and some red ochre and used some of our water to make paint out of it.
We also found some petrified trees which are trees that lived millions of years ago that went through conditions so harsh it changed itseft into rock!!!!
Here are some pictures.

BTW it was so hot in the desert.

Tenby

Yesterday we went on a day trip to Tenby.
It was a long drive but it was worth it in the end to see all of the beautiful castles and beaches.
Before we started our trip we watched an episode of grand designs where they turned an old boat shed into a house. We thought it was amazing so we decided to go and see it while we were in Tenby.
Dad said that he thought no one was living in it and they had just built it for show, but I think he went a bit loopy yesterday because he also thought he saw a seal when it was actually just a dog swimming.😃🐶

Hi everyone
Today we went to kings cross station and went to platform 9 3/4.
Libby and I took our trolley and ran into the barrier between platforms 9 and10.
We also went to the Harry Potter shop there. They have the wands of all of the characters, the uniforms, Bertie botts every flavour beans, chocolate frogs, Harry's glasses and lots of other props from the movie and merchandise. Here are the pictures of me and Libby going to platform 9 3/4. From Kitty cat.

Today we arrived in Cardiff.
After we settled into our apartment we went out for a walk across the river,
As we were walking we came along this big tree surrounded by all sorts of chairs tables and bits and bobs filled with plants and fruit and veg.
It was absolutely beautiful.
We looked around and got some ideas for our garden.
Here are some of the pictures that I took.

London

10/09/2013
Yesterday we left Singapore at 9:30am and arrived 13 hours later in London at 3:30pm. We had a safe flight and on our way to our apartment we went past Buckingham palace, Big Ben, the London eye and the natural history museum. Our taxi driver asked us where we were from and we said Australia, we told him about all of the dangerous animals that live in Aus and he said he would never go there because he was too scared. Right now it is 5:00am and in Aus it is 2:40pm! Hello jet lag. From kitty cat.

Singapore zoo

Yesterday we went too Singapore zoo, it was absolutely amazing!!! We saw so many animals it's hard to remember all the names but here are a few that I remember: white tigers, polar bear, warthogs, mere cats, mouse deers, giraffes lions, elephants, sea lions, leopards, cheetahs, proboscis monkeys and lots of other types of monkeys, white rhino and Pygmy hippo. We had breakfast with the orang utangs and got to hold a baby python and mum said we might be able to get one as a pet! We walked around to the kids zone and the other two kids went in the water playground and me, mum and dad got Ben andJerry's ice-cream, it was so delicious but just as I finished eating it started bucketing down with rain. We all rushed for cover except for Libby and Rohan who kept playing on the playground until the rain stopped. After the rain we walked back to the entrance of the zoo and got a taxi back to the hotel.

Breakfast

Hi guys,
Breakfast at the Traders hotel was so delicious, Libby and I fell in love with the dim sims and mum tried some kimchi and her mouth almost exploded! There are all different types of juices, cereals and fruits, there are also things like miso soup, rice and curry and everything tasted absolutely fabulous!!!
Here are some pictures of the dining area. From kitty cat ;-)

In the hotel room

Last night it was about midnight by the time we got to sleep ( 2:00am Aus time) but it was worth it to be here at the Traders hotel Singapore. This morning we all woke up at about 5:00am but I tried to sleep some more and stayed in bed until 6:00am. Libby and Rohan have slumped in front of the tv already, Dad's on the ukelele and mum's going through all the Singapore guide books and info she has. Mum and Dad are telling me that there was a big storm last night but I didn't hear or see anything.
Anyway here are some pics I took from in the hotel room. From kitty cat.

On the plane

We're on our way to Singapore now after a 5 hour drive. We've been flying for 2 and a half hours now and we've had some plane food for lunch which actually tasted pretty good. We've got some TV's on the back of the seats in front of us and we can watch movies, tv shows, play games and listen to music on them. I'm stuck sitting next to Dad and Libby Rohan and Mum are in the middle row.
Here are some pics from on the plane. From Kitty cat.

El-Mo & El-Bo farewell party

On the last day of August, El-Mo and El-Bo had a special farewell party. The girls organized the event with a bit of help of their parents. It was a great party. There was food, water fights, swimming, presents and more food. Thank you to all involved! We plan to stay in touch with the Mortons and maybe even visit their new home one day.
